MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS......

- What Region do I join?

The region you will be joining with depends on three factors; where you live, where you work, who is inviting you to join. In most cases the later is the majority. Most applicants usually are invited to join by a co-worker, in that instance, the region that co-worker belongs to is typically the region you will be joining. If you work in LA County, you can be in Region 1 and so forth.

- Where are the Regions?

There are 8 regions in California. Region 1 is Los Angeles County, Region 2 is San Bernardino County, Region 3 is Riverside County, Region 4 is Orange County, Region 5 is Northern Los Angeles County/San Fernando Valley/Santa Clarita Valley, Region 6 is San Diego County, Region 7 is Northern San Bernardino County and Region 8 is all of Northern California everything north of Kern County. When Northern California starts to enlarge then other northern regions will be formed.

- How many states are the Choir Boys M.C. in?

There are now 5 state regions in the organization. Those states are California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas and South Dakota. Several others states are considering joining. Those are New Mexico, Oregon, Washington and Connecticut.

- What if I work in LA County and say I live in Orange County?

This is typically the case. Many Choir Boys do not live in the same county that they are employed in. Many LA County Officers or Deputies live in Orange, San Bernardino or Riverside Counties. In this instance you may elect to be in a region in the county where you live, however in past experience most new applicants prefer to apply and stay with the region that their co-workers/friends are in.

- What if I don't know any Choir Boys, what do I do to join?

We have many members that have joined the club that didn't know anyone. We recommend coming to a meeting and asking any member to point out a club or region officer. Please do not be intimidated we are all members of law enforcement and are here for you and eager for you to join us. Once someone leads you to a club/region officer, that officer will most likely take you under their wing or assign a senior member of that region, you either reside or work in, to be your mentor. It's smooth sailing after that, all you have to do is gas your bike up and RIDE!!! Drop us an email here click to email

- Do I have to own a Harley Davidson?

Yes, most definitely! But you may also own other motorcycles as well and will not preclude you from joining the club. The clubs by-laws requires Harley Davidson ownership and the Choir Boys can emphatically say we are a pure Law Enforcement only, Harley Davidson only Club.

There are many Law Enforcement Motorcycle Clubs that allow non-American made motorcycles or an American/non-American made V-twin bike. There are some that allow a percentage of non-law enforcement members within their ranks albeit must be sponsored by a law enforcement member.

The Choir Boys M.C. choose to stay loyal and committed to the Harley Davidson Motorcycle and to each other, the Law Enforcement Officer. Invited guests/friends that ride other bikes are always welcomed to ride with us where ever we go. Whenever  you participate as a Choir Boy at a Choir Boy event you must ride the Harley Davidson.

- Do I have to be a Law Enforcement Officer to join up? What if I used to work for a Law Enforcement Agency?

All Choir Boys must be either an active, reserve or retired law enforcement officer (must have or had a "peace officer" or "federal law enforcement officer" status) with valid credentials and in good standing with their respective agencies. Law enforcement identification is checked upon initial induction to the club and every year after upon membership renewal. If you have worked for a law enforcement agency in the past but separated from that agency and do not possess a valid law enforcement identification you will not be eligible for membership. Work verification is often checked upon initial membership and we have had some imposters that attempted to get into the club but were found out and not were not allowed to join. You must also be authorized per HR 218 to carry a concealed weapon nationally. Choir Boys do not travel unarmed.

- My brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, dad, mom is a Law Enforcement officer, and they will vouch for my integrity and honor, and I own a Harley Davidson, can I get in?

That's very nice.....but see above answer.

- How long does it take to prospect in becoming a fully patched member?

The Choir Boys M.C. does not "prospect" its members. "Prospecting" a prospective member is often times used by a motorcycle or other type of club to see if that person is worthy of joining and meets their criteria for membership. The only mandate that we place on future members is that they are a credentialed law enforcement officer, own a Harley Davidson, in good standing with their respective agency and make the mandatory 5-ride commitment.

- How much commitment does it take to stay a member?

After becoming a "fully patched member", a Choir Boy must participate in at least 2 events a year. We know that Law Enforcement Officers have rotating shifts, court commitments and often times called in for extra duty. We also understand the pull of family commitments, so although we like to have as many members at a function we do understand we all have separate lives away from the club. There will be no pressure to participate!

- I've heard that the Choir Boys and have a poor reputation within the law enforcement community, is that true?

This is somewhat true but our reputation has changed and continues to improve. This reputation started shortly after the club was established as we had a few members that were enchanted with the "biker" lifestyle. As the club grew law enforcement itself was also undergoing a paradigm shift demanding the improvement of standards of off-duty behavior, accountability of actions and enhancing the image and reputation of the profession.

In time these raucous members left the club and our reputation has constantly improved. Our club by-laws, state laws and department policies prevent us from associating with the criminal element and displaying unprofessional and disreputable behavior. Any member that brings discredit upon the club will be ejected from the club.

We recently had one member, who was retired from a local police agency, testify in court for an OMG. When the Choir Boys administration found out about it, this members was subsequently ejected from the club and colors collected. Keep in mind that within the club are Chief's of Police, Assistant Chiefs, Commanders and other members with rank and these members cannot risk having themselves exposed in having their reputations and integrity tarnished. You will be among professionals and everyone in the club watches out for each others back. It will be safe to join this club if you are concerned about this.

Through the years the club has garnered support from many Chief's of Police, Sheriff's and many other major-well known law enforcement organizations. We are continuously being asked to attend their functions.

Through the years we have had many members promoted to supervisory and command level ranks even though they were members of this club. Being a member of this club has never held anyone back from being promoted.

- What about the 3-piece patch the club wears, isn't that being associated as an OMG?

It is true that the "Outlaw Motorcycle Gang" typically wears a "3-piece patch" but there are some OMG's that wear a single patch or double patch. The "3-piece patch" has been used as an identifier for those who wear it as a OMG member. This has been a concern pondered by the club for many years and many times even our own members have recommended changing to a double if not single patch. The clubs stand is very strong on this and our trademarked patch will never be removed for the reason that OMG's will not give permission to any club to wear a "3-piece patch" without their approval. We are a law enforcement organization and the Choir Boys will never ask an OMG for "permission or approval" to wear a specific patch.

Wearing a 3-piece patch does not specifically prove that a club that wears one is an OMG. There are conditions and evidence that must be factual to prove and identify a specific person or a group as a "gang member or a "gang"". To put it short and what saves us from being recognized or inferred to as an OMG, is that the Choir Boys M.C. is not a criminal organization, enterprise, club, gatherance of members, committee, shelter for or brought together for, where it's members are involved in, known to be, assist, condone, have knowledge of or support the furtherance of criminal activity.

All Choir Boy members are peace officers in their respective states and are bound by department policies, state statute and club By Laws to act accordingly of our profession.  As in any organization whether civilian or law enforcement or any law enforcement agency for that matter, it's members are human brings with flaws and unfortunately, will always have that "one member" or "1%" of that membership who will tarnish the good reputation that we all have so strongly worked to achieve.
